Horton Hickerson -

Welcome
to District 7500!
Horton was born in Atlanta GA and moved with his
family to northern New Jersey when he was in grammar school. He
graduated from North Plainfield High School and went on to Furman
University in Greenville SC where he graduated with a BA degree in
Business Administration. Two years were spent in the army where Horton
served as an artillery officer in Ft. Lewis WA and the Republic of
Vietnam. After the service, he earned a Masters of Science in
Professional Accounting from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. His
professional career in Public Accounting started with one of the then
"Big Eight" accounting firms in Boston MA and Denver CO. He
returned to the New York area and worked with a small accounting firm
specializing in SEC engagements. In 1976, Horton went out on his own and
has practiced as a sole proprietor since then. His office is located in
Tinton Falls' NJ. He is a CPA licensed to practice in NY and NJ and is a
member of professional societies in both states as well as the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Horton joined the Rotary Club of Red Bank in 1989. For
many years he has served on its Board and as its Treasurer, and he also
has served on the Board of Trustees of the Red Bank Rotary Foundation
and been its Treasurer. In 1994-95 he was honored to serve as President
of the club. He has served as an Assistant Governor and Deputy Governor
and for two terms he served as the Treasurer for our District. He was
awarded his Paul Harris from the Red Bank Club in 1996. Horton has also
served on the District Finance Committee.
Horton currently lives in Little Silver NJ with his
wife of 24 years, Susan Goldring. He has a married daughter, Cheryl,
living outside Boston with her husband and Horton's grandpuppy. He
spends as much time as he can at his vacation home in Ponte Vedra Beach
FL, where on any given day you can find him, thoroughly enjoying
himself, playing mediocre golf.

Ray Klinginsmith, a retired
attorney from Kirksville, Missouri, USA, served as general
counsel and professor of business administration for Truman
State University (formerly Northeast Missouri State University)
for more than 20 years. From 2001 to 2004, he served as a county
commissioner for Adair County.
Ray
has served as a director of the Macon-Atlanta State Bank in
Macon, Missouri, since 1971, and he was one of the initial
trustees for the Missouri Family Trust, which the Missouri
legislature created in 1989. He was the president of Chariton
Valley Association for Handicapped Citizens since its inception
in 1982 until 2009, and is now president emeritus. He received
the 1988 Parent/Caretaker Award from the Missouri Planning
Council for Developmental Disabilities. He is a former member of
the executive board for the Great Rivers Council of the Boy
Scouts of America and the holder of its Silver Beaver Award for
adult volunteers. He is a member of the First United Methodist
Church in Kirksville and a former lay speaker for the church. |
A
member of the Rotary Club of Kirksville and a Rotarian since 1961, Ray
has served Rotary as district governor, chair of the 1998 Council on
Legislation in New Delhi, and chair of the 2008 Los Angeles Convention
Committee. He was a member of the RI Board of Directors from 1985 to
1987 and chaired its executive committee in 1986-87. Ray joined The
Rotary Foundation Trustees in 2002, serving as vice chair in 2005-06,
and was a member of the Future Vision Committee from 2005 to 2008. Ray
is a Major
Donor and a recipient of the Foundation’s Citation for Meritorious
Service and Distinguished Service Award.
Ray’s wife, Judie, is a former
elementary school teacher in Macon and Kirksville and a former
consultant for the Child Development Assistant program at the Kirksville
Area Vocational Center. Ray and Judie have two children, Leigh and Kurt,
and three grandchildren, Morgan, Grant, and Sydney Perkins.
